Return to Main Page 2008 Testimonials: Hi guys, I wanted to take the time to thank you again. It was the trip of a lifetime! I could hunt every day for the rest of my life and not top it. Just wanted to take a moment to Thank You for the great adventure that Brian, Ray, Andy and I had out at the Cobb Ranch hunting with Danny Antila and Chris Spliethof this year. Our guys had a wonderful time out there - and some very exciting close encounters with big bull elk during the September 15-20 hunt that we had through Sage Mountain Outfitters. I have been out west archery hunting for elk on 14 different occasions now - and came away very much impressed with the way that Danny and Chris worked with the four of us to create a quality hunt. Both of the guides demonstrated a great work ethic and the skills necessary to provide us with a successful hunt - plus they were fun to hang around with. I would also like to mention that Cathy (Chris' Mom) did a superb job as our Camp Cook for the week.... A very pleasant lady who worked to hard to provide us with excellent meals. Although we did not see a large number of elk up there on the Cobb Ranch during the week that we were there, the percentage of elk that were 'bulls' was very high - and three out of the four of us had 6x6's or better in close enough for shot opportunities. I would be happy to make a positive recommendation to anyone who asked me about the kind of hunts that Sage Mountain Outfitters puts on. Finally, without speaking for the other guys, I'd certainly like to come back out to Montana in 2010 and hunt with you folks again - perhaps at the Cobb Ranch (or maybe on the McGraw Ranch). Once more, thanks for a great hunt with lots of unforgettable moments. Eric Pape       --- Hey Cal, Thanks a lot for the opportunity to hunt with you all this year. Shane was a great guide and host. I don't think I've laughed so much or hard in quite a while as I did at the stories he and Jim told. I was blessed with a nice bull the 1st hour of the 1st day all due to Shane's knowledge of the animals and the land. He also put me on a nice young mule deer buck Sunday evening and again Monday morning but I decided to give him another year to grow and would enjoy trying for him next year. I'm sure you're booked but if you for 09 but if you have a cancellation I would enjoy filling the opening for either the 1st or last gun hunt. Please keep me in mind If you get an opening. He had a great time with Shane and speaks highly of him. I realize the challenges that go with a client that is up there in years and has a hard time getting around. I am sure that Shane and Jim put everything they had into helping him out. It was also very special that you let him stick around a tag along for a few days after his hunt. I would sure like to get back out there again and hunt with you all. Again thanks for the experiences you share with your clients.
